Typically anglers who are only going to use the Micro systems for brief scouting will opt for the more inexpensive MIcro II or Micro 5C. These units have limited features but will show the underwater environment nicely.
Anglers who are interested in using their Micro units for fishing applications along with scouting strongly prefer the Micro Plus systems and the additional features they provide. The Micro Plus units offer covers that power on/off the units, USB based charging for more charging options, Video-out to larger TV or Monitor, a 3x digital zoom and fully controllable IR lighting. Also some of the Plus models offer the recording option with a built-in 8GB DVR. None of these features are available in the Micro II or 5C.
